Playing the Dosem in GvE can be a frustrating experience, in particular with regards to interacting with NPCs and even other player characters. Dosem automatically lose points in social reaction rolls with most other species, and many can be mistaken for children, thieves, etc..
That said, I highly encourage you to play this up. Any Dosem having spent significant time among humans and other taller species is quite likely to have the Thistledownian equivalent of a "Napoleon Complex" — that they continually feel the need to prove they're capable of doing things everyone else can do and more, regardless of their size. With Lys, I chose to often go with the "indignant" approach and have her get a little upset when she's mistaken for a child or called little. There is also, of course, the ignorance approach, where the Dosem simply shrugs it off, having heard it their entire life.
The most interesting approach to reflect the in-game nature of negative social reactions for me has been to pick annoying little habits to show around characters. For example, Lys often contracts people's names, and tends to be a bit loud and obnoxious when situations call for the opposite. Little personality quirks like this — which by themselves are not powerful enough to be Disadvantages — work well towards creating the animosity that a poor social reaction might cause.

* The suggestion of mage for this role should be taken with a grain of salt, given that Dosem are a tad too fragile by their nature to stand up to much punishment. As such, a Dosem Mage might want to consider putting points into boosting their HP and/or Concentration, or money into good armor that doesn't slow them down much.
** The role of scholar within the context of the Dosem might be limited to those of sufficient social rank to be a bannerette.
